Understanding Women Part 2

Never ever call your partner the wrong name. Although, if you absolutely have to, use the name of a woman who is not an ex, a neighbour, a friend or a colleague. That should make it possible to get over it much quicker. (Not guaranteed of course!)
If you do call your partner the wrong name, don't use the excuse  “Sorry, I couldn't remember your name”. It's really not going to help.
Calling your partner the wrong name in bed is probably never, ever forgiveable. So try not to do it!

Understanding Women Part 1

Men and Women have totally different ideas as to what nagging is.

Simply asking a man seven times if are they sure they have done something is not nagging, it is the sign of a conscientious partner.

Men should realise this.

Mothers Day

The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in America. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Although she was successful in 1914, she was already disappointed with its commercialization by the 1920's. Jarvis' holiday was adopted by other countries and it is now celebrated all over the world.

In this tradition, each person offers a gift, card, or remembrance toward their mothers, grandmothers or maternal figure on Mother's Day.

Never forget!

Doggy Love!

7 out of 10 pet owners claim their dogs get jealous when they hug
their partner, a study found.

As a result, many resort to the rather unromantic measure of including their pet in the embrace to pacify them!

Little White Lies?

In the world of online dating, white lies can take on many forms,
including,

  • posting a photo more than nine months old
  • lying about your age
  • lying about your income
  • lying about your job.

The simple fact is that you are likely to be looking for your soul mate, so at some point in the dating relationship, those lies will come back to haunt you. So always be honest and truthful in everything you say and post.

After all, by always telling the truth, you'll never have to try and remember what you said!

Finding Other Single Parents

So where do single parents find each other?

Well there is the obvious route of blind dates set up by well meaning friends! These I do not take too seriously and consider them research time. I get to try out different restaurants that might be of use at a later date. I get to practise social skills like conversation and flirting (don't laugh, but it is worrying sometimes just how many people do not possess these skills). And it’s also a good excuse to buy a new outfit!

What is Dating and Why You Should Do It!

Dating is a fascinating process. It is the time when both parties involved are trying to understand the other person, and so are on their best behaviour at all times. They do not want to show the less than perfect side of things and so are always trying to impress the other party and make sure that person realizes how lucky they are to have them in their lives. It is after all the time when two people decide if the other person has the potential to be in their lives for… well, forever, to look at it in a bit of a corny light! Dating is also when confusion reigns as one of the more prevalent emotions, along with a certain degree of happiness, self-importance (here is someone who thinks what you say is significant) and maybe, for the lucky ones, the initial stages of love.
Dating is considered a good way of getting to know another person, as it is in this time that you learn a lot about how compatible you are with the other person. It can be a fun and exciting process, with both parties flirting and enjoying each other’s company. If, after going through the dating process, either or both of those involved feel like they would not be able to have a long-term relationship, they end the relationship there and then , which bring us to another good thing about dating – unless really serious, it can be a totally no strings attached approach, which significantly reduces the pressure for both, at least at the beginning.

Why Date As A Single Parent?

It’s important to date for the right reasons and not just date for emotional revenge, or with the illusion that a new romantic partner will somehow fix what may be broken in your day to day life. You should want to be with them for all the right reasons and not just because it means an extra pair of hands around the house or financial help!

Finding Love Again As A Single Parent

Just because you’re a single parent and have found yourself suddenly unattached, it doesn’t mean that you will be on your own for the rest of your life or have to rule out finding love again. You might be a bit hesitant and that is perfectly natural. But at some point you will have to find your confidence and self esteem, so you can get back out there. There are only so many months you can sanely talk only to children, you will want adult conversation that doesn’t include Thomas the tank engine or the latest pop sensation being mentioned!
Many single parents haven’t dated for a very long time so might feel reluctant to put themselves in a position of potential rejection. Well, rejection is a normal part of dating (and life!) and you should try not to take it too personally. After all, you wont just launch yourself at the first person to show interest in you, will you? After all, you might not fancy them, so remember, it might be you doing the rejecting!

Does Going On Dating Sites Look Like You’re Desperate?

Well, if that’s the case, then there are millions of desperadoes out there!

In today’s society where people are too busy for normal social lives, dating sites are becoming the norm. You’re not the first and you definitely won’t be the last person to use a dating site. So embrace the modern technology and be thankful of having more ways available to find your ideal partner. It's also very safe, and lets you find out a bit about your new friend before you actually meet them!

Should I Post A Photo On My Dating Site?

As for posting a photo of you – the internet dating gurus reckon that the ads with photos get up to ten times more response then those without. So it’s your call on that one but if you do, choose your best recent photo, with a nice smile and in focus, and don’t even bother thinking about a pretend picture of a model! It really doesn't help you in the long run.

In focus!

A nice natural smile!

Be Yourself!

You can’t just be genuine with your partner, you also have to be genuine with their children.

If it does get to the point where you meet the kids, be yourself once again. Kids are quite often smarter than single parents, and will know when someone is being fake with them.

Be nice to them, and show genuine interest in them.

It won’t be long before they start reciprocating!
